Summary: Bield ("the App") does not collect, receive, transmit, or sell any personal data. The App works fully offline. Everything you set or save stays on your own device. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party services.
This policy describes what happens to data when you use the App. Because the App has no server component and makes no network requests to collect data, the scope of data processing by the App is limited to your own device.
The App does not collect, access, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:
The App Store privacy label for the App is "Data Not Collected", which reflects how the App actually behaves.
Any information you set or save in the App is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage. This includes: the audience you choose during setup; the region you select (used to show a sensible default emergency number); your bookmarks and saved articles; your readiness progress, checklists, and practice history; an optional household emergency plan you can fill in (contacts, meeting points, and key notes); and whether you have read and accepted the safety disclaimer. This data never leaves your device, is never uploaded to any server, and is not visible to the developer or to anyone else.
You are in control of this data at all times. You can clear your saved progress and bookmarks inside the App at Settings, "Reset on-device data" (your setup choices and disclaimer acceptance are kept), or remove everything by uninstalling the App.
The App does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera, and it does not use any of them.
The App functions fully offline. It makes no network requests for data collection, analytics, or remote configuration. The only outbound actions are standard iOS operations: (a) the App Store rating prompt, handled by iOS, and the "Rate Bield" button, which opens the App's own page in the App Store; (b) composing an email in your own mail app if you tap "Send feedback"; and (c) opening your phone's dialler if you tap "Call emergency services", where any call is placed by iOS only after you confirm it. None of these sends your App data to the developer. During normal use the App does not display or open web links.
The App does not knowingly collect information from any user, including children, because it collects no personal data at all. No data from children under 13 (US, COPPA) or under 16 (EU) is collected.
App data is stored only on your device and is retained for as long as you keep the App installed. Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data. No copy of your data exists on any server, so the developer has no ability to access, retain, or recover it.
Because the App does not collect or store any personal data on any server, there is no server-side data to access, correct, export, or delete. You retain complete control through your device:
Residents of the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with comparable data protection laws have additional statutory rights regarding personal data. Because the App does not collect, receive, or process any personal data, those rights are satisfied by your direct control of your device and the functions listed above.
Apple may collect certain information when you download or use apps (for example, aggregate download or crash statistics) under Apple's own privacy policy. That activity is controlled by Apple, not by Bield.
For the identity and postal address of the provider responsible for the App, see the Impressum. This satisfies the identification requirement under GDPR Article 13(1)(a) and the German Digital Services Act (ยง 5 DDG).
For questions about this Privacy Policy or the App, write to: fervour-rambles-9b@icloud.com. This is an Apple iCloud "Hide My Email" alias that forwards to the developer and does not reveal a personal email address. If you contact the developer by email, your message and email address are used solely to respond to your inquiry, are not used for marketing, and are not shared with third parties.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top, and may also be reflected inside the App.
